LOVE...at first sight.

- Enter on a bed of rose petals
The moment that all of your guests will remember from your wedding day is how you looked when they first saw you; your beautiful white gown, how your hair was pinned up or down, and that surprise smile on your face as you stepped out and saw your handsome Groom at the end of the aisle.

The aisle? You know that magical place when you first see your future husband or the moment when all of your guests rise in your honor, yeah that aisle. We never put much thought into it and when we actually think about it, it's a rather big deal. You may walk down the aisle in a church, could be in your parent's backyard, or on the beach somewhere. No matter the location, this is a major focal point for you, your Groom and your guests. Here are a few ideas how you can spruce up your aisle...

                                                            - Tall vases to add height
- Hang flower balls by ribbon or pearls

Whichever your theme might be, there are several ways to add simple, decorative touches to the aisle you will be walking down. Use candles to add a romantic mood in the church, incorporate your flowers for more detail on the beach, or use natural resources such as twigs, rocks or sand if they follow your rustic/chic theme. Just remember, you will remember this moment forever!

It's a piece of cake...or is it??

No matter whose wedding it is, if I'm not in the bridal party, it seems like I always get picked to be the cake cutter. Are the feelings mutual? No one likes this job but we do it to relieve stress for the Bride and Groom. Nowadays, couples have been choosing to take the easy route...CUPCAKES! They're stylish, delicious and even less of a mess! Cupcakes can be designed to fit your wedding- more color options, choose several different flavors to fit your taste buds, and you can even coordinate the cupcake wrapper to match.

You have the option for customization and beautiful designs when it comes to cupcakes. You can have your top tier be a regular cake so you can have the traditional cake cutting photo-op, then be able to preserve the top tier for your first anniversary. Here are a few of my favorite ideas how to display cupcakes at your event!

- Swirl design with a little detail

- The sign tops it off

 - Decorate your stand to show the theme of your wedding

- Pearls...need I say more

If you and your Groom can't make a desicion on cake flavors because they taste so good, never eliminate the option of cupcakes! There are so many more options you can do with this fast-growing trend!!

{Big City Girl with Country Roots}

When we're young, we have a vision of what our wedding day will be like. We know who our bridesmaids are, what our colors will be, and when were in the 6th grade, we even have our groom chosen. Growing up in Kansas all my life, I have related to the country and if you've been in Kansas your entire life, you know you're within 15 minutes to the closest corn or wheat field.

 I didn't grow up in the country but lived pretty close. I have to admit, my cowgirl boots are my most comfortable shoes and I'll choose them over my heels any day! I love listening to country music because it tells me about life and believe it or not, anyone can relate to a song. I mean who hasn't heard Tim McGraw's My Best Friend at a wedding? You probably have it on your list of possibilities for your first dance!

 I thought I had every decision planned out for my big day until I became passionate about event and wedding planing. So of course, I must stay up-to-date on the most current trends. I'm loving the ideas I've seen around for wedding themes (blame Pinterest). The country/chic theme or as you may have heard it, rustic/chic, is becoming an uprising theme, especially in the Midwest. After hours spent looking at different ideas to fit this theme, I asked myself why wouldn't I want to incorporate where I'm from into my wedding day? After all, this day is about me and my Groom- let's just hope he goes with this idea too!

The Lover's Holiday

 {Valentine's Day}

Every February 14th, across the United States and in other places around the world, candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between the ones you love. People who are a fan of this day filled with love agree it is the most romantic day of the year. I'm sure most of you brides can agree with this statement since you've had the opportunity to spend at least one Valentines with your Groom or your special someone.

 As you'll find that Valentine's Day rarely  falls on a Saturday, so making the most romantic day of the year be the day you say 'I Do' might not realistically fall on February 14th.

Valentine's Day is synonymous with pink and red. Also, purple represents love at first sight, so it's becoming more of a familiar color. Depending on your style, you can go with this traditional palette or do something unexpected.  For example, choose a classic black and white palette and add hints of red or pink. Another way to make these romantic hues stylish is to go for contrast. Think deep crimson paired with a light pink.

~Inspire YOUR day~

 To get started, think about Valentine's Day and what it means to you and your Groom.Find inspiration from your own LOVE story-- how you met or what your history is together.

Make each detail more meaningful, similar to how your first Valentine's was with your Groom. These simple touches will remind your guests as to why they are celebrating your day of love and joy...or when they spent this lover's holiday with their special someone.

 Take these tips we have given you and make them fit your definition of Valentine's Day because it will be your most romantic day of the year.

 One of the latest places couples are getting personal is with their escort and place cards- by typing them into the colors and theme of the day. Imagine lining them up as footballs on a field, attaching them to fruit, hanging them from branches, or displaying them as beach chairs alongside a real sandcastle.
