Wedding Trend: Chalkboards!

Okay, so we know this is not a completely new discovery but we can’t help but to spotlight the chalkboard trend. We are seeing more and more couples adopting this vintage-sweet feel that an old-fashioned chalkboard can bring to a wedding, regardless of the chosen theme.

Whether used as a helpful guide to direct guests, table setting options, a comforting quote of two becoming one, food and drink menus, or props for photo booths, we can't get enough of these adorable accents!

High-Style & Jewel Tones*

Crystals, silver, rhinestones, purples, pinks, blues; the wedding of Trinh Hunyh to Cang Phu on November 17th, incorporated all of these details. From the blue sashes tied to each guest chair, to the pewter linens that covered each table, and the gorgeous centerpieces that topped off the ballroom. The Bride, Trinh, asked for a high-styled, jewel tone wedding and she simply got her wish. Every detail went together so nicely, even the pink/purple uplights that surrounded the room. We made sure the guests were in 'aw' when they entered.

Here are some of our photos from this gorgeous evening for your viewing, and of course some inspiration if you need it!

{True Believers}

We were waiting months for the wedding of Beth Martin to Mike Fahey. They said ‘I Do’ on November 10, 2012. When we first met Beth and Mike, they were very unsure of what they wanted, but they did know they wanted to WOW their guests with a “party” reception. I’d have to say, we made their wishes come true.

(One of four trees that surrounded the Terrace Room. Hung with crystals and moss, stood over 8-feet tall)

We started with a flowy, tropical theme and after many brainstorming sessions, we developed a trop-glam reception theme. Each detail was fine-tuned and laid out all the way down to the placement of the cocktail tables. Real trees filled the Terrace Room at Botanica Gardens with some reaching over ten-feet-tall. We can’t thank the staff at Moore’s Flowers for their hard work and their bravery for standing on ladders most of the day. Carving stations full of sirloin and duck were available and hors d’oeuvres served on bamboo spoons were passed around to guests throughout the evening by Corporate Caterers. To top it off, guests were able to take a break from the music (provided by Scott at Accent Mobile Music) and dancing and relax on the cabana beds!

(A very windy day in Kansas)

(A little something for the Groom - he loves frogs)

(The Bride and Groom are K-State fans, so they made sure their guests could watch the game)

(Cabana beds with chandeliers, draped and accented with Hawaiian flowers)

(So gorgeous! Looked even better at night)

(Lights, lanterns and all white linens created the feel for the trop-glam theme)

(Tomato bisque with grilled cheese cuts)

(Guests enjoyed an evening on the Terrace)

(The largest tree stood over 12-feet tall in the middle of the Terrace Room)

Sorry for our not-so-great photography; we really wanted to share this day with you. Darrin Hackney captured every moment of this wonderful day from start to finish. We can't wait to show you some of his work!

Also, a BIG thank you to Beth and Mike for letting Jubilation’s be a part of their special day! We truly wish only the best for this amazing and fun-loving couple!
